Hangtown (forthcoming)

Role: Producer

In the foothills of northern California’s historic gold rush country, George Floyd’s murder has sparked a reckoning in a mostly-white town long defined by a violent symbol—the noose. History and current events collide as three women must confront their communities and their identities. HANGTOWN, a documentary film in production, investigates California’s little-known history of lynching and racist violence, revealing how false narratives of the past continue to haunt communities of color today.

HANGTOWN has received support from The Roy Dean & From the Heart Productions Grant, the Sacramento Film and Media Grant, and the Berkeley Film Foundation. Hangtown was recently selected to participate in the Gotham Week 2022 Project Market in NYC.

Directed by Stuart Harmon.
